Looking westward  from the Gulf Islands National Seashore reveals the Portofino Beach Resort on Pensacola Beach, FL, illuminated against the night sky.

Carnival Cruise Lines and their newest ship, the Carnival Dream, survived the Alexander Family (Lisa, this includes you) as we cruised to Nassau, Bahamas and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos before returning to Port Canaveral, FL in late December 2010. A few of the photos show damaged houses on Grand Turk, caused by hurricane Earl in September. (more…)

McGuire’s Irish Pub, in Pensacola Florida hosted the 34th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k Prediction Run on March 12, 2011. The race, through the streets of downtown Pensacola, draws more than 10,000 runners a year. Running and winning take a back seat to fun at this charity event. The race ends as quickly as it begins and what follows is a day of live music, libations and good times had by all. (more…)

New Orleans has many major attractions, from the world-renowned French Quarter and Bourbon Street’s notorious nightlife to St. Charles Avenue (home of Tulane and Loyola Universities, the historic Pontchartrain Hotel, and many 19th century mansions), to Magazine Street, with its many boutique stores and antique shops.According to current travel guides, New Orleans is one of the top ten most visited cities in the United States.
